Why does writing well matter?

In writing well, your words need to flow, one to the other, just like notes flow one to the other in a piece of music. You can certainly put them together for a grating, halting effect, but generally you want to put them together for a harmonious effect, with transitions so smooth that readers (or, in the case of music, listeners) don't even notice them.

Writing is not just a talent; it's a skill that can be learned and practiced, just like playing an instrument. There are some basics we'll teach you that you'll always have, like musicians being able to read music notes or play guitar chords. We'll also go deeper into the skills you need so that you go beyond being a mediocre writer to being a writer who writes well.

However, unless you practice you won't be a proficient writer. Our programs and resources compel you to play your instrument - to write.

We're here to help you practice and play. We invite you to take a look at the sidebar to the right. Depending upon your writing need (a program, support, writing help), we have a place for you. If you're still not sure, start at how to get the most out of the Write Well University website for a roadmap of what the website offers.

We're happy that you're here, and please don't hesitate to be in touch if we can be of assistance!
